Why I Wrote
SWADHYAYA
I often wondered how I could introduce children, teenagers, and young adults to our heritage, culture, and dharma in a way that would engage them and spark their curiosity.
My years of interacting with college students helped me to arrive at: Swadhyaya. It is a journal-cum-activity book designed to make this journey meaningful and enjoyable.
Swadhyaya is for: Parents and teachers looking for authentic material to share with the next generation. It is for children, teenagers and young adults who wish to deepen their connection with the wisdom of our ancestors. It will help youngsters appreciate India’s rich intellectual and cultural heritage.
Swadhyaya is aimed to cultivate the habit of reflective learning rather than passive consumption of information. Most importantly, the book encourages readers to seek answers, and continue their own journey of exploration.
I hope it inspires young readers to know themselves, connect to their families, ancestors, nation and the world.
